Colorado is on the verge of legalizing sports betting as the final significant obstacle has been eliminated.

The Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission (CLGCC) held a meeting on Thursday via Cisco WebEx and approved new definitions for NCAA prop bets, coinciding with the state’s upcoming introduction of sports betting on May 1st.

In accordance with Colorado’s game regulations, sportsbooks are prohibited from accepting NCAA bets on activities that do not have a direct impact on the outcome of the events. However, would sportsbooks have been allowed to place bets on the number of penalty kicks scored by a soccer team or the winner of the coin toss?

On Thursday, the decision was made by the CLGCC.

During the discussion on rule-making problems, the following terminology was employed to refer to house bets.

A concept called a «Participant-Specific Bet» is defined as a proposition bet that focuses on an individual participant in a team sport or a specific position on a team. This type of bet involves predicting whether or not a specific goal, which directly impacts the game’s overall outcome, will occur during an event.

During the meeting’s discussion, Commissioner Richard Nathan expressed, «We are confident that the issue has been effectively resolved through the change we implemented, which clarified our focus on individuals.»

As is customary for the CLGCC, every certificate that underwent voting received approval.

In total, the Commission granted an impressive 31 licenses, encompassing permits for kings, vendors, manufacturers, and distributors.
