In light of the alleged unethical treatment he claims to have faced at one of the retail sportsbooks in Colorado, a popular sportsbook recently made its grievances public by going public.

The present focus of the Colorado Division of Gaming lies on that particular event.

On Friday, the state agency announced that an investigation has been initiated into James Salinas’ allegations regarding the Ameristar Casino’s Barstool Sportsbook in Black Hawk. According to his claims, the establishment altered its betting limits and odds at the counter while he was making two NFL Draft bets earlier this month.

The Division of Gaming refrained from providing any additional comments on Friday.

With a message on April 23, the dispute gained attention.

On April 23, VSiN tweeted a video clip lasting about four minutes featuring a discussion by a Colorado resident and current co-host of Pro Football Blitz, sharing his viewpoint on recent events.

In 2017, Brent Musburger, a seasoned sportscaster, founded the Vegas Stats and Information Network (VSiN), which is headquartered in Las Vegas.

According to his VSiN bio, Salinas, the winner of the 2015 Westgate Las Vegas Super Contest, previously held the position of Director of Recreation in the city of Denver. In addition, he has been involved with the youth gang prevention program of the Denver Nuggets and worked as a reporter/editor at the now-defunct Rocky Mountain News.

Barstool Sportsbook & ’s initial odds are against Salinas & RSquo, which they like.

In the Twitter movie clip, Salinas clarifies that he was searching for potential reviews of Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux while browsing through sportsbooks. Specifically, Salinas was interested in placing bets on Thibodeaux being selected among the top five picks and going as the second overall pick.

Salinas claimed to have discovered these odds on three Colorado online sportsbook apps, without specifying which ones. He further mentioned placing a substantial wager of $1,000 on each of them.

Salinas, determined to assess the odds at both Black Hawk’s wholesale sportsbooks and the nearby hill, embarked on a 30-minute journey from his residence to make a comparison.

He asserts that he has found opportunities at two different casinos, with one of them being the Barstool Sportsbook located at Ameristar.

I asked the staff at the counter about the limitations on the draft. Salinas states in the video, «What will you dismiss?» A muscular man with a large build responded, «We will accept any wager you make.»

Salinas stated that he requested a $3,000 bet on Thibodeaux to secure a spot in the draft’s top five, with odds of +100. Additionally, he mentioned placing a $1,000 bet on Thibodeaux to finish second overall, with odds of +350.

Salinas clarifies, «And, ‘Sure, we’ll take that,’ as they put it.»

They and the ampersand symbol are tallying the money. In the video, Salinas continues, «They placed the ticket there, but they haven’t given it to me yet.» They say, «Oh, we need your ID,» before handing me the ticket. And that’s fine. I’m fine. I’m an elderly man. I’m certain this isn’t about being 21 or anything, but let me show you my card. They claim it’s just a formality. They said they would go through the process and we would be able to complete the purchase and then you can go on your way.

Programs change as a result of term changes.

Salinas was informed by the Barstool casino seat writer that they would be imposing restrictions on the magnitude of his wagers, shortly after returning.

Salinas alleged that Barstool reduced the Thibodeaux top-five wager from $3,000 to a mere $1,000. Moreover, Barstool restricted the maximum bet for the No. 1 Thibodeaux to $500 for a total of 2 wagers.

In the video, Salinas remembers saying, «And, That & ,» «OK, let’s do that,» and «andrdicquo.»

According to Salinas, the Barstool individual informed him that the lines for the wagers had also changed.

Salinas alleges that he was notified about the price change to $129 instead of the previous $100 odds on the Thibodeaux top-five bet. Furthermore, the Barstool employee stated that the entire wager had dropped to +250 on the 350 Thibodeaux – No.

They asked, «Sir, what would you like to do?» Salinas responded, «“And, ”

«I shouted, ‘Hey, give me my money back and I’ll be on my way.’ As for you guys, feel free to hand off the Mickey Mouse ears to someone else and keep rocking your mediocre group.»

Salinas asserts that following that incident, he exited the casino premises without acquiring any retail tickets purchased in Black Hawk.

Just so you know, on Thursday night, the New York Giants selected Thibodeaux as the fifth overall pick.

Aidian Hutchison, the defensive end for Michigan, secured the second position overall, just behind the Detroit Lions.

Barstool declines to offer a response.

On Friday afternoon, the Barstool Sportsbook manager from Ameristar called to inform that they are aware of the tweet and Salinas’ claims.

He continued, expressing their intention to fully cooperate with the inspection conducted by the Colorado Division of Gaming.

The manager announced, «Regarding comments at this moment, we will refrain from making any comments for now.»

Although the personnel at Colorado Barstool have not made any comments, Dave Portnoy, the founder and owner of Barstool, has responded in a manner that is expected from him.
